WRKO's Political Week in Review with Joe Battenfeld Debuts October 1st

The political expert will recap the week in local and national politics through November elections

Boston, MA (September 29, 2010) – WRKO AM 680 has announced the launch of a new program, Political Week in Review, hosted by political reporter, Joe Battenfeld, beginning October 1st. During his weekly program, Battenfeld will summarize the week in both local and national politics and will conduct interviews with key newsmakers and media personnel as the November elections approach. The show debuts this Friday from 7:00pm to 10:00pm and will run each Friday through November 5th.

Joe Battenfeld joined FOX25 News as political editor in July 2003.  He covered the 2004 presidential campaign and Massachusetts Senator John Kerry's losing bid to become President.  Joe was FOX25's lead floor reporter at the Democratic National Convention in Boston and the Republican Convention in New York.  Before arriving at WFXT, Battenfeld was chief political reporter at the Boston Herald. He began covering local, state and national elections for the Herald in 1986 and worked in the Herald's Washington Bureau from 1990-94. In 1994 he became chief political reporter. Widely regarded as one of the best political reporters in New England, Battenfeld is known for breaking stories. In 1999 he broke the Massport booze cruise story that led to the firing of Massport's director. He also broke numerous stories about political patronage at Massport, and taxpayer waste at various government agencies. During his career with the Herald, Battenfeld covered every presidential race from 1988-2000, the major party conventions, Senate races, the Clarence Thomas-Anita Hill hearings and the Clinton impeachment trial.
