GIF Ken Block teased his newest video last week, and, this morning, it finally dropped . It’s good. In it, Block takes his 1,400-horsepower Mustang straight up the 14,000-foot Pikes Peak, replete with a close or call or two. Spoiler alert: Block survives, though not without steering through some obstacles in his path, like these snow machines (?) which would be unpleasant to drive into. Advertisement Block’s run up wasn’t his first time, of course—you can see the tire tracks on the road from what were probably more than a couple practice runs prior to the shoot—but it’s still impressive. Watch the whole thing below. Ken Block Takes Risks This is the financial exchange with the very Armstrong and chunks of you're exclusive look at business and financial news affecting your day you're sick leave your world. Stay informed and up today about economic and market trends plus get breaking business news every day. And now the financial exchange with the Gerry Armstrong and chuck Exxon. The NFL has been mired in controversy for the last several years you've had a wife beaters playing and being paid a lot of money you've had. Adrian Peterson who beat his child continuing to play in the National Football League and make lots of money had Eric Hernandez. Who is arguably an. Become a mass murderer but multiple murder multiple murderer. And you know people continue to watch through all those controversies. But this weekend. Well was the icing on the cake enough tea people I suspect I don't know what the viewership numbers are yet we don't have them. But it looks to meet job like those numbers are on the way down hi everybody it's Varian truck with you here. On a Monday after. The NFL is going to suffer as self inflicted wounds. Yeah well let's let's talk a little bit about what we're seeing here the first dot thing that was interesting is just on the Thursday night game via you saw effectively a half empty stadium out in San Francisco. For what. To be a pretty terrible matchup between the rams and forty niners actually turned out to be pretty entertaining game believers. And the viewership numbers anarchy copy your serve was good on hold up like 35% with the yeah it was us seven point four million viewers up about 30% from the previous years of the same week alone how many people started watching the game. As opposed to people who might tune in when you lose you know when news looked to be a shoot out I think the big thing on the night games whether it's Sunday Monday or Thursday is. I think the same number of people typically will tune in for the beginning of game but it turns into will blow out you get an awful lot of clicks at halftime when it's about 10 o'clock eastern whereas if it turns out to be a good game like this when did. I stayed up I was watching I was like well this is out I'm pretty impressed but when seen from the rams actually that they've got a nice little offense going on but 50% tents. I think attendance is gonna continue to be a prom and some of these cities where the product is very good three products also very expensive. In Cleveland you're talking about him to Cleveland both the LA teams San Francisco. And who else is bad these days the jets and the giants. Tucker who else is really battery and you said the jaguars the jaguars yup. There are always bad yes it is like you've just got some terrible football that's out there and the problem is you know when you're talking about charging a hundred dollars a seat to get in the door and for a bad team you know you not to take up bandwidth for their NC Jim and pay 400 dollars for my tickets another fifty bucks for parking. And then I'm gonna pay you know a 15200 dollars for food by the talent Dolan. It's like a 70800 dollar day for family of four to watch a lousy game to watch a crappy so came so let's. It back to yesterday and mighty because you had these player protests. Yet. And you've had some very good gains so I'll be I'll be curious. To see it in on my FaceBook stream of the vast majority. Of the people that were posting. We're saying I'm done with football on done with the patriots blockades that that's what I saw and that white people would be done with. Well they I'll tell you they just felt that the actions on the part of the patriot players were unpatriotic. And it's being painted in that vein and they are saying I'm not watch and I talk and guys tonight. Known to alert twenty years twenty years I've dose of these guys and they said I am ever gonna watch another patriots. They don't wanna watch patriots in I have to but he missed a heck of a game yesterday so you'll bad for if you tuned out. I wonder with the long term effective it is like Kazaa what I started to lose. You know we've we've allowed child beaters right and wife beaters to play in the league. Will be the big question is. Is this enough to stop people from watching the NFL will you continue to watch NFL football games our poll question of the day of course. Even participate in the poll by going to our web site and mutual exchange showed up on the somewhat surprised 60% of our audience saying they're going to continue to watch. NFL games so it may just be by feed on FaceBook what did you hear among your friends the U guys are both. Younger you're bulls football fans see and like. Did this affect you or. Network of friends in and to date amounts now and watch anymore know the fact that you had a presence saying that some should be fired for something that they are doing at their own employer and is don't think. Soccer any now I mean they restored gonna continue to watch the games pretty much ambivalence. That means it's the what went to separate politics from I'm watching their game I'm watching a game I you know I care so you don't care what they think politically. I'm react air I'm interested but what I don't want to what do what do the president told you to fire me because of what I said and knowledge I listen I think about how dumb that is now well the it's. He is the president of the United States and nice that he's got this podium he's he's got a large. Podium from which to speak and and you know he's going back what's ironic is. He and Bob Kraft are pretty tight well here's the here's the irony of it is for president please be so pro business he has an awful lot of ideas as to how the NFL should run their business. At any rate we will see it I think the viewership numbers. Would be down Muster 10% 8% 8% to. And it's probably way too early is at the impression this year double no buys it it'll be probably mid October late October when we finally get a sense of what viewership is doing this year. On Friday we reported that Lowber had been thrown out of London. I was shocked by this numbers Cooper has do you in a petition out. They have 640000. Supporters of them be allowed to continue operations in London. And numbers operate is what is it 5%. Of adverse global base of customers. Are in Marin are in London yes that you cannot afford to lose London. No it's in in this is a big issue for Cooper and in pretty much what London had said. Was that Cooper was lax in reporting any serious crime and also doing background checks in London cut and so because of that they said look we're not in or renew your ability. To operate as a service for higher every. Taxi driver and medallion owner in London is cheering our guys did them at the medallion owners of theirs and thank you for lake. Thank you for letting this happen here but 640000. Petition sign ups. Hey the politicians. Are gonna take a lot of heat this reminds me of when Cambridge was considering banning. Mover from Cambridge. And you had people show up and basically throw rotten tomatoes at the politicians say hey we want to continue to have number and they relent. The politicians may take a lot of heat but if there is a legitimate reason if Hoover's background checks been doing over there aren't stringent enough if they're not reporting crimes that their drivers are committing. That's a problem gotten all right I get it I just Pete do you think they have a couple weeks to try to iron this out. I would annihilate their meaning it's the end of septa I would I would imagine they get it fixed and here's why as you said it's 5% of their overall business okay. And Hoover's not gonna sit here and just say oh gee let's just put all our thumbs and let this go down the tubes. I would imagine that this is the highest priority for them over the next couple weeks they probably up all hands on deck trying to get this squared away and well the little we'll see what they do that today if it doesn't sound like there there is not a lot of dialogue going on between these two parties. There is that right now but again do it you don't just. Toss away how 5% your business and all I look I understand that whoever wants to stay in London. But I'm not sure London. It doesn't appear as if London's willing to talk about this. You know might as he said that reports it could just be appearances that they just wanna put up you know the appearance in putting a hard front up there we know that with things like this they tend to be back channels that are worked out where things happen behind the scenes they've hired very powerful lawyers who has do you think this is something. Where they lose their license in London for two or three weeks and then come back as we've seen that some Asians it is definitely could be. It could be I certainly wouldn't be surprised that might not be something that they can work out a weaker today might need to build you a deeper levels of systems in order to get things fixed there. But I have to match that one way or another before the end of this year they're operating in London and I've got to believe that consumers. Are going to be scream at their politicians. I go get a guy 640000. People party signed this petition and that's in his band of what three days so they've got that 640000. People and guess what they're doing they're saying hey. There's going to be a protest in front of this politicians how's that we're going to be who we want you to call this politician on a cellphone I mean they're going to be very aggressive and interrogated there and if there's one thing to do over normally is it's very aggressive. The right I don't see them putting up with this and just say audio we've rule will walk away yup. The one area for the Wilbur that is actually have time to cover that story to come back. We're going to be joined by Blake Burman from Fox Business in the next segment. What does the GOP tax plan look Microsoft to get at this week. We're supposed to get a date we're supposed to get a by the end of September so it is now what the 25 so we've got six days in order to get this thing out and and I'd I'd like to see something before the end of the week we haven't seen anything formal rate we've heard we've read tweets from the president know we've heard rumors and innuendoes but we have not seen. Anything concrete. From the report and this'll come out of the house sit at this to be something Paul Ryan delivers yemenis is to keep in mind that when when Reagan went through his tax reform. Who's a vice president at leader bank and were talking about the housing market. The housing market as you know. You know short of supply. Long on demand. And Jake for first time homebuyers. What what is your message to the young couple hours just somebody's out there looking to purchase their first. Time home yet so you know for first time home buyers what we are telling men are a couple things one. Be patient yes you know we we see a lot of first time homebuyers who are making five and fifteen offers. For fighting house now and offers except it's extremely. Okay. And so they have to temper their expectations. Oftentimes they're they're paying more than the other half to. Paying more than the asking price and a yeah it is quite common right now in and in some cases they're actually having to to research other towns and rooted in considered first because. You know it's very campaign can't afford their dream home exactly. I'm getting we're telling first time homebuyers to really be aware. Of all the mortgage products that are out there that are relevant to tell us about this leaders thirty yes so we're really excited about this product we just launched it is called leaders thirty. Tax reform as the number one issue on many American's mind and we're joined now by Blake Burman from the Fox Business Network to talk about it. I don't like. I'm doing all right it. It's kind of wild. Tax reform coming out this week and that might be to their sport big story satellite at the critically when you think about it. Critic and happy Monday. Let it may be third or fourth but Alitalia in terms of long term economic impact it's number one where are ready and when will we actually see. What the proposal looks like from the Republican Party. When they've indicated. You know you're gonna the president on the road. And Indiana and that's the day that you can expect this summer BL I'm old. He put forth that it appeared initially told we could when he hit every are one that September 20 cents. But. It's. Going to be getting the the next order so. Okay so in the next 48 hours we're gonna get a look at what are you hearing from Capitol Hill what's it gonna look like. What are the rates going to be easy state tax gonna continue with wood with what do you what do the rumors telling. What do start on the latter minutes opt for awhile. About his estate tax going. You know Tony says it was on our air this morning he is now part of the White House cop shop it will allow. The tax reform plan and the the message from him what you're gonna be a lot of the deduction. You're gonna do this state and income tax deduction go but you know they're they're gonna be some of the very high profile ones of course being you know terrible deductions. The mortgage deduction and built or are you're not gonna get I don't believe. A lot of intricate details on Wednesday you know I think you're gonna BA a book produced you know I had heard guys talk about the last car that rolled out. You know how how land you're you're gonna get a lot of top one level stop and an ordinary bit the line from the White House in the book folks close to that Bedard allowed the the committee's sort of fill in the details and fill in the gap and you eat you know the expression a doubled in the seat belt that is certainly the case or what does want. What about the top rate of 39 point 6% does that connect continue is easy don't they if is congress gonna leave that in to get some democratic votes. So they're talking about Rory all the the question is for the top end earners how well those ago. And then when you take away you know popular in the city California or if you live it and a major for example. When they get rid of that. You know state and and local income tax while. How low it actually going to be. Back on when they were gonna feel that but you know the incident and it was our about it this morning on honesty and the messages now from the White House. You know initially they were saying that the tax rate for all out there now they're trying is the brain that that middle income focus and they're not so worried as much about. The top and folks and a power and corruption with the. We hear about the hedge funds used and Donald Trump during the election went after the hedge funds saying they're not paying their fair share of tax and fact of the matter is they pay 23%. In. You know the anesthesiologists. Is paying 43. Brett and priority for them that and I don't think you're gonna hear a lot of that on Wednesday we're gonna try to raid nets. And they don't class tax cut you're probably gonna get. It's a great way out I doubt you're gonna be some you know it matched with income. By you know I don't think the focus on Wednesday as it's gonna be on on that part of it I think it and and it said happy. You know I. It's it's not going to be a and everything I'm hearing aid back and pull out you know chapter of chapter chapter of detail. Think we get this done by the end of the year is this a 2018 project. They've got a couple that different that it on the one for the White House Treasury Secretary Paul Ryan are insistent. That that they wanna get this done and what seventy. However Mitch McConnell keep talking about that Congo. This congress that a lot different than 2017 because battle believe. The door open for fall of next year. You know there's there's a lack or all of their gonna try to do that grand Cassidy thing this week which is health care. You know and and it and based data that tax reform is their number one priority whether it's done this year. Or this congress. Is there's still an outstanding question. Would Teddy. Now now now not on the up front like about it you know the main focus here for men and and and what they talk about it when when he talked to people air. Across BC is. You know how this is gonna play out. Want the corporate tax yup and to do or the average you know average Stanley of course held somewhere in Europe is on the nightly news. Bad about that kind of I believe what what the ticket for the most part on once. If bunker had tried to the issue she is a big proponent of some kind of increased child tax care credit Bret. That that's good that something that would be. Well received by millennia all's I can tell the that that's an important issue for young people. And Democrat yeah yeah right better than it is an issue that strikes all the Democrats however. It's one that. It is necessarily a Republican priority areas and barely up enough Republicans circle around you. I highly doubt that that. That will be and it. Or at least some of mass civil allow. A new child error. Policy because it is at at this point. They're trying to reform the tax code and and they've got a certain. Hand forward certain you know group of issues that they want and and that's something. That is that it says politically at least maybe maybe some sort of credit in the making its way and but the wholesale change. That you talked about and the president has mentioned. That is one of the enveloped it went is it at all. Right and Blake got a mean to blind side you but his health care dead. While. You know they'd they'd. But I knew. The new generation of it over the weekend you which has more relaxed got more money for pain and at a specifically Lisa Murkowski into the column but the problem. And rebel spokesperson I believe with a bomb. To set that you either get back. Ted Cruz said that they'll likely art or. What currently ban it in Collins. And that no. McCain is that now out nearly at the ants we've got a lot of goes yeah and it he potential notes and the reality of it is. Is they have until Thursday maybe Friday afternoon. Before the Jewish holiday of the younger port sets and before they're able to do that because as of October 1 may lose the reconciliation. Ability specifically healthcare being. That's the new fiscal year and try to use it acts. Got it got it Blake thank you very much for your time in your insane we appreciate it you gotta get Blake Burman Fox Business. I think what we heard you can correct me if I'm wrong track health care is dead tax reform. Looks like it's got legs tax reforms alive but I don't know if it's gonna look quite like what we thought it was initially know that that's kind of the message that I got is there might now be. The same kinds of change that we were initially expecting. And maybe not the same breath but still you know having some changes just to make things a little bit easier and cleaner what do you hear from your generation and that old child tax credit issue and because we love that child care office. Is is is a big issue I mean you look at the cost. Of Deion here now. Maybe it's because of the region of the country we live in. It if it's more expensive in New England than it is anywhere while maybe California's. Justice expect Massachusetts is the most expensive states for child care in the country you know it is and it's not even close male or four year old in Massachusetts it's about 121000 dollars all of the only DC is. I see a lot of families who can afford no and that's only the of one kid ray range to get one. Time now for Wall Street watch a look at the market's performance so far today but I do Berrian jug right here on the financial exchange radio network. Mike Armstrong joins us now from Wall Street watch my calorie this morning. Or a check do laughs like a bad genuine parts that make the big buy it looks like yeah and and that's just. Seem to like the purchases well usually the acquired company takes bit and hit the Genuine Parts Co. is that purchasing alliance automotive group which Europe's second largest parts distributor. Deal is valued at two billion dollars which includes a lot of alliances outstanding debt Genuine Parts Co. six dollars and has nearly 7% on the news. Quest Diagnostics on the other hand down about 6% in early trading today what's going all of. Yet ticker symbol for questions PG acts and a Raymond James analyst recently downgraded then. Decent release of the new Medicaid and Medicare rates that word they were just released that very recently and he called it nearly a worst case scenario for the companies in the debate with the reimbursement rate that they can expect the federal government and and what good this company. Good thank you for the time like I. Michael Armstrong with Wall Street watch. Well Tucker we had opened the show talking about the NFL man died askew if you had any numbers in terms of viewership right now would be acted dermatologist and yet there rebel of ESPN has tweeted out limit hold while a cancer that word. Preliminary. Preliminary Maryland and lay off honey. What do you do for lot of right to bear a a meeting. Anyways ratings for NFL games on CBS. Yesterday were up 4%. Vs week three of last year in its pregame show had the highest viewership in seven years. And so that was the patriots game right. No no this is all CB all CBS ya nobody that the patriots game was a barber rate was and wouldn't that have been credited. What did you what their week three was last week last year on anyways are up 4% over and over and CBS up 4% what about fox that's out of Somalia as watching the Green Bay game that was terrific well I'm sure they'll be up as well as there was in game that's a thing isn't it a or is it is that a function of rating at dean quality or is that a function of politics at night and I don't know with the EU you guys have a better feel for the night you see if I try to watch. I can't I can't tell you last time I watched an entire game all Holland at taken in Napa paternal so here. Here I'll say they have the quality games I think is pretty much in line with what it's been historically like yet he gets crappy game Tuesday at the jaguars beat the ravens 4047. Like I wasn't even on TV goes on Yahoo! will not. But but again they you know. Yet the vikings beat the Buccaneers by seventeen the dolphins scored six points like you have some crappy games in crappy teams out there and what I will say the product in terms of how they're actually producing the game right now is better it is okay. Dallas a different. Definitely noticing less commercials OK so there's a deputy instead of going down kick off here's touchdown. Commercial extra point commercials are kicked off commercial and then a drive and it's just touchdown extra point a commercial kick off drives they cut to commercials there which is. Phenomenal at the other thing that they're doing this nice is on some of the mid drive commercials and things like that. Is they're not going to a full screen commercial they're keeping. Cameras and so forth on and showing a little cut away and on the side which kinda keeps you engaged in the game will facilitate the re always they they have built a better product I was highly critical of them last year. I'll give credit where credit's due they've they've done a nice job making the product a little bit better from a. Fan's perspective well our poll question today is will you continue to watch NFL games. 28% leasing yes 72% saying no the end of the year Tucker. Do you think. Viewership is up for the NFL over 2016. Or down I 2016 was a bag here yet and it's going to be up you think it'll be down I don't think it's going to be him I think it's gonna be some music soul anthem healing thing is going to be somewhat of a factor. Biased opened at the end of the day the products getting better like tractor said and the numbers are going to be up over 26 and it sounds like he's more of a generational issue you guys don't seem to care. Where's my generations seems via the terms yeah. I think that's accurate that there. One surprise stand out for Lowber rumors finally figured out a way to make money. It's delivery of. Food well I don't know I am still questionable as to whether or not this is a viable long term business ally like this out to you they found something that's successful as far as creating sales now. I don't know it's going to be profitable and that's that here's the thing you forgot you eat you looked at this in and you are saying not enough margin on the delivery charge. Remember they're a chunk of the tab from the rationalize I I know but bear I use these services yeah I've used these services literally hundreds of time okay give us an example without whoever eats work the way it works is you go in to be out on your phone Hoover eats whatever happen it's it doesn't make you reach to be food they all work the exact same one it's not even available to well that's one of the problems is it's only. Here's here's the thing it's very hard for it to be anywhere near profitable if you don't have the right population density because via drivers out there wept to drive 345 miles to make deliveries as opposed to making five deliveries on one street it's tough to have to be in a densely populated area lots of apartment buildings exactly the way you reach works you go into the at this and want to blog to my favorite Chinese place to. You going to place the order in Hoover does they take eight cut from the order it's typically somewhere between ten and 15%. Of city if you spend fifty bucks their make and five to 750 just on that and then they'll charge delivery charge which the restaurant also it'll vary based on the restaurant which is anywhere between two and six dollars and there's attempt. There's a tip that you can give to the driver doesn't go over okay so all in all when it's still less expensive going and going out because you can drink your own booze right. In it and you can and you know raft. Ian not tipping as much as you would if you went to the restaurant I'm not I'm not saying it's cheaper it's not cheaper for the person yeah I'm saying so here's the thing let's say that the average ordered an movers getting fifteen dollars in gross rapid and okay what they do the way I'm. Assuming it's similar to what they do with their drivers driver gets 30% right off the top bouquets the F fifteen is now down to ten okay. Then all of a sudden you also have to say OK what else wears that infrastructure coming from welts people who would otherwise potentially be driving so now you've got someone. We're only getting ten dollars an hour coming in they can only make one delivery in the suburbs and now they got a thirty minutes back force. Instead. The potentially doing somewhere around 2530 dollars in revenue I just don't know if it's profitable along and that's. It's not that it's not a great service I use all the time it's pretty if you're in if it can't be profitable now here's the thing you have to consider this. If you're enthusiastic about the service that means it never has pricing power where the service's pricing power means you would be willing. But they're so I would not be willing to pay like if they said OK now all of a sudden you're six dollar delivery charge can be 1011 or twelve I'm now wouldn't it's seven. I'm I'm out like I don't wanna pay more than five or six bucks for delivery because otherwise most restaurant they order from the ten minutes away yeah it's cheaper than for me to go and use the gas. Some speaking of gas it's been coming down in price is a matter of fact gasoline prices have declined seven cents per gallon. As refineries are backing up big coming back on like all point out. They've gone down seven cents a gallon but that's cross the country not necessarily in your name neighborhood yet gas prices and. Across the country right now. 257 is the national average down for about 264. We're still far above the 233 that we were prior to hurricane Harvey hitting him in Massachusetts as an example. Massachusetts right now is only down three cents compared to the Nash to compared to what a week ago. Okay so Massachusetts not moving as much as the national average. Continuing to take a look at some of the other New England states New Hampshire is it to 61 down from 266. Snaps down about five senses of in the last week. Connecticut is it to 81. That is down from 285 sedan about four cents in the last week it does seem though chuck. As if the refiners are continuing to come back on line. In hiked the from what I can read. It looks like during the next three weeks anyway prices continued decline I think where we are right now we're 257 on the national average I think we get down around 240 by. Third week in October which is I had said it was going to be mid delayed October originally before you get prices back down to where they'd be the kind of looking like that's what we're gonna get. What what are the challenges you face is do you buy your home heating oil. You know a lot of people are making that decision it's only September and after a weekend like we had you can imagine turning the heat on but you know what. Approach most people turn heat on an October sometime. I mean keep in I was checking the forecast going out the next ten days to be going down into the forties at night and largest week to feel like we'll come back went off. First of all is 88 degrees yesterday's Samoan along was not the most on I was shocked like legitimately hot yesterday yeah we used our poll today it's going to be 88 degrees and then all of a sudden you look ahead and can be 47 on Thursday night. Now but any rate of AD seems normal it beat their thing I would caution you on on this whole oil play. Is oil has gradually crept up it's trading at 5136. I was quite surprised. That it surpassed fifty dollars a barrel last week now to 5136. Yeah I mean I think part of its weaker dollar. A dollar continues to weaken sue any time you see that the median price just gonna go up in dollar denominated terms and I think a large part of it is the weaker dollar that we're seeing. And it could also have some people just kind of betting hey you know all oil we know was a speculative market it's it's easily move by speculators you could see some speculation happening right now. Did apple Li NA with their iPhone neat I don't know but yes they they're not selling it. Maybe what they're not eat it in the past he could remember. Like eight years ago when apple would come out with a new full Nabil line. Around them maybe guys from ANC and and would be there and they had the camera to be interviewed people in. All evening if the new. Think nobody buys things I'm I was an on air were nine you guys went over the review or via the actual events and my biggest takeaways from it are. Facial recognition on lock your phone and official recognition to make a mode geez. Which I don't terror about Nelson those of the biggest update for the deaf phony really. As at a I kinda like the idea of a chuck him OG. That's like Jimmy let the world needs. Eight shock mode but my question news that's not enough are people not buying B eat because they're waiting for the acts. Bull once the X come out. October equities are coming out for another month beacon pre order it on October 21 is that the rate yet can be out of the November 2 or something is when it finally ends up Bob being released. And so. In theory even scaling back but if you look at the suppliers. To apple. All their stocks are down in price because they're they're calling their suppliers insane and we note to me it. I my my view is that people may simply woken up and said it's not good for me to spend 800 dollars on a phone now now like it's. I was with a group of people against its dome as with fifteen people they all had iphones yesterday. None of them. Not one person was going in some had five so that the six. None of them said all gonna blood get the you could have five or six that you're still working on the same operating system as somebody who as the acts. Our oh and you might not have access to all the features because I can't use facial recognition I can't use you know the 3-D touch in this and there's a coalition here are added to speculation that the facial recognition may not work. So you know if we would have you believe he spent 1213 hundred bucks on enacts. And I was sort of this guy's thinking about doing it but then I'm reading reports well they're not sure that it's gonna be. You know ruled barely work almost barely being. He wrote to their bucks for a phone that doesn't work here's my problem what if I get this phone that I finally do all the plastic surgery I've been wanna I only now I can't block anybody want to play your beard you know like all of a sudden my nose jobs cause me problems that the stock's been down four days in a row. Apple. It'll mean like eventually it'll bounce badly this is it's it's a good company listing laid an egg would it would if this phone just thinks. It's not gonna stick okay the question is it going to be better now. Okay it's it's not going to be like in Minnesota and worse if Sampson has a markedly better for what what is Sampson do that you computers point I don't know but it would eat if they have a markedly better if you talk to Samsung user. They'll say well we've had facial recognition for six months. But they're not gonna come out with anything that's markedly better lately it does what what technology would make the phone that much better. You know camera screen price it can't like everybody got a camera price okay price you think they're gonna cut prices on an already unprofitable phone. Samsung is never made money on a Smartphone. Also sometimes group are both toppled into both these bonds. Aren't they also will turn over they take a really long term perspective they're willing to hang around with things even through the rough time. That means that there are there returns can be kind of lump beast sometimes they might trail in the short term. But that's no reason to worry because as I said the long term records urges. Really fantastic. And the differences between these two funds. You can kind of get that from their names prime cap out of the growth is more growth story and it it's been morningstar's large growth category it. You know has some what growth fears stock. A little more aggressive. Little maybe a little more volatile. Prime cap but if he stopped is that less growth the it's more core oriented more stable. Both in terms of justice volatility and in terms of year to year and that could be a little more predictable. It's in our large blend category but they're both. They both use the same basic strategy and they you know just just in a little different way. The final thing that really is a great thing about these funds as their expenses. They're both they're both relatively cheap prime cap on its back cost point 68%. Out of the growth cut point 67%. Those that are. Both cheaper than most actively managed to. Stocks bonds of course stock funds back quite as cheap as they're vanguard funds which are closed to new investors liked it that but. They're still they're still really cheap and. Very good David I we actually have to get out for break but I appreciate the time and appreciate the info today. And I have this blank stare in their face because they don't know it very hard to calculate how much each year you are required by law to take out of your individual retirement. Yet the way it works is remember that you get a tax deduction every year when you put that money into the IRA. But eventually the government wants to get that tax revenue and so what they do was starting at age 79 or seven and a half. They require you to start taking money out of your IRA and it starts off is a relatively small now but the problem if you don't take that amount out when you're supposed to do. There are some very significant penalties that you can end up paying. And by the time your eighty. The money that you have to take out of the percentage that you have to take out of your individual retirement account is a lot more than it was at seven it grows every year sees that you can end up paying and by the time your eighty. The money that you have to take out the percentage is starts to get support were seven or 8% so it does grow significantly in you have to be aware that that number changes each year. This is the financial exchange with Barry Armstrong and shut sun out. You're exclusive look at business and financial news affecting your day you. So leave your world and stay informed and up today about an economic and market trends plus get breaking business news and every day. And now the financial exchange with the very Armstrong and chuck Exxon. Here a day like today you would think we'd be talking about the Health Care Reform bill no. Maybe tax reform no when a type of attack reform or talk about stupid national football you that is the topic. Of our. Opened today the NFL hi everybody it's very chuck with you here on a Monday morning where. Well I'd I'd prefer if we're talking about the advanced stages of tax reform or not. We're talking about we could do that the NFL I think we will very short period time. But the NFL as the number one story of the day it's everywhere and apparently do how how long does this story last. We continued through the season you've got this this every beyond this we're gonna get as reignited this will be the dominant trend. Through the rest of the season but other sports I'm thinking like it if the NFL's behave in practice you saw the first one in baseball over the weekend away and we decision we early the catcher for the Oakland days. To do need during the national at the and so the first first player during a baseball game to himself. See the big in. Major League Baseball is largely Hispanic and white not that many black to only 7% block. And the NFL is 70% black. News in that ballpark is I checked it's parties heavily block an NBA wouldn't be NB AB 75. Parlor on the same ballpark known as the NFL they're out NBA is 74% black now so that you know two leagues where Ian see a lot of the protest in would be the NBA right and the NFL now death. Argues I ate a lot of people I know people are. At least based on my FaceBook beater disgusted with the actions of the NFL our poll question today is will you continue to watch NFL games. I just think it's ironic. That and and you know we're more more upset about this than we are about. Players beating their wives and beating their children. And a right you're actually right. They this this is causing people to not watch. I was discussed a member of the Ray Rice thing as a few years ago the elevator video yeah that was just like that was for me. The that was the end and then he icing on the cake was the agent Peterson thing. They do put this on the IBM sun down with the state. So for meeting those were the the things that turned me off about football. This thing. Generational Accutane in my generation is much more upset about it. In your generation believe the I was with a bunch of young people yesterday and they seemed it could get careless. Think a big thing is just you know people need to acknowledge and listen to each other somewhat if you listen to branding cook's interview after the patriots game yesterday as an example brake coach group and military fan batteries grandfathers Emery you know he understands life understands the sacrifice that these people made. Said he had conversations with his father and you know in order to kind of say hey look you know it is this something that I should be doing. And you know it's the it's not a simple situation and so I think to simply be so dismissive. I think doesn't do anything to kinda help figure out you know had we get past this is ideally. Wouldn't the perfect in a situation be so that you know you're able to say hey we can listen so you can stand voluntarily as opposed Haiti have to stand now. Like when that make more sense. Anyway our poll question cities will you continue to watch NFL games. 32% of you saying yes I'll continue to watch games 67% of you saying bill will all watch NFL games anymore. I can tell you probably 80%. My FaceBook feed lose opposed to watching NFL games anymore are curious though is we've heard this before. Right we've we've we've you know a lot of people like me word disgusted with the Ray Rice sailed up and watch anymore. And then Sunday afternoon rolls around and they turn. In sight I don't know how they will pay the viewership numbers is what I'm getting very. It was when we get accurate data collected is it Tuesday Wednesday we will have numbers of what the other week an epidemic that yesterday yeah it's. Is generally Tuesday Wednesday as where we have we've got overnights today but they're not necessarily. You know that they're not necessarily the the most accurate it's typically a couple days later that we get the accurate ratings let's talk about something more productive and that would be real state. According to the National Association of Realtors economic and financial outlook. Attitudes about home buying and selling. Are on the rise that's good news that should mean a lot of transactions. Yet what what you're seeing here in the state of from the NAR from what they called their housing opportunities in market experience survey. Is found that two thirds of households think it's saving for down payment is challenging right now so it's very difficult to get that money. And that roughly half of renters expect to pay more in right next year which is why they're trying to get out of the rental market in in into well owning a home is because. Rents continue to increase as well. You know what you are seeing right now. You guys do get the question a lot in in we should talk about this if you buy today. Are you buying at the top of the market that came up. It comes up I get emails on this you must get this question from your friend's truck could they. The you know they look at you and they say while trucks you know he's he bought a Condo he sold at a profit many now he's bought a house. They. I don't know that I've done the right thing where we you don't like he's the lake at a certain level you have to take a leap of faith like I've had those questions go through my Headley did I make a bad decision. Buying a new place right now because. I don't know that things are gonna necessarily continue like this forever when I can tell you is that based on what I'm seeing as far as the number of people who want to buy homes. Vs the number of people actually own homes. Supply and demand is still working in your favor for trying to buy one for the long run. You left home prices they go down over the next year to I don't know they might continue to rise but what I can tell you is that with how many people want to buy properties today. If I'm looking to buy a place for the next 1520 years which is how you should look to buy property. I feel confident doing that. But here's where I think people make a mistake. Bills rent a place you never hear somebody renting saying what's good investment. It enough it's true it that when you bio said it comes down to Oz did I make a good investment don't look at your house as an investment. Because your house is something eat your your pain. For a place to live and to raise your family and rolls. And what you when you buy that house. You should be buying it because it's where you want to be it's not. All I've I've bought it and you know I bought it win at the bottom of the market are bought on a street that I think is going to appreciate in value. He might be like I've made money on houses and I've lost money on house's. But I can tell you when my wife and I bought properties we body with the idea of this is where we want to be now is the town we want to live. That's very different from a few buying a rental property. Al Reyes I read their properties a different metric you're saying okay you know. It there you look at your cash flows are looking at things trying to say OK is this going to be a good investment for me over a long period of time with a home. Completely greats you're saying. What is this you know a home that I can see myself being in for the next 1520 years is the big thing that gets you when you buy a place is cost certainty right. And if you say look I'm willing to own this house at this price for the next twenty years. That's the question mean to be asked which. One thing that I would advice you can do if you're buying your first home and you might be scratching together I think the average down payment now for first time home buyers about 6%. That that's what people are putting down on you may have put down more in your buddies may have put down a little less than it was around twelve. Now the study of looking at through any Arthur I thought that's what they said 6% yet you know typical down payment of first time homebuyers 6% for three straight years so it. That and I'm talking first time not not okay that's okay first time the first time is 6%. One thing that I wouldn't advise you to do first they tree have an emergency fund that is pretty fat because things go wrong with house's what's that. Twelve months twelve months of bills that the cost you would you buy your first house. If all of a sudden you're household bills are 8500. Dollars make sure you've got emergency fund with twelve times that amount once you've done that though. Make sure you add a little bit to the mortgage payment nine no ears they don't know why should we putting. More into my kids 529 plans are born in my 401K. We should be taxing your 401K but. Tried to put I don't care at 75 bucks. Extra on the principle the mortgage. What you will do is it has renounced defect when you get out two years 1718. Of them mortgage all of sudden you look at your mortgage and say. Yet that we're gonna 0240000. And we only know 180 it's good to pay an extra 75 bucks he. Here's another way to look at it as well so if you go invest your money in the stock market. You're gonna get whatever turns stock market returns over however long your invest it could be 5% to be 10% Huckabee three. Can be negative 5% if it's just over a year or something like that. When you throw extra money at your mortgage and I see. It is a guaranteed rate of return if your mortgage rate is for an half percent you take an extra fifty dollars towards that. You just earned four and a half percent on the and you can't do that at the bank to. Think about it if if you if someone told you can go out by four and a half percent CD right now we're treasury UB jump an all of you know he said he would give me a personal and indeed tears all my money. That's pretty much what you do when you pay off your mortgage at four and a half for 5% you're getting a guaranteed rate of return it does not change. We talked about it nobody does it. Up next are we talking about the GOP they're pushing their health care bill through their trying to are they gonna be able to get it done by the end of the week. That's a good question will be right back from the financial exchange rate units or. It looks at least at the surface as if the health care Bill Allen part of the Republican party's gonna die again. It seems like it's been accused Canada. It is that they've only got five days to get this done at this point and the problem is trying to work out something that's about a fifth of the US economy in five days doesn't really seem like the best idea now you know. This is you talk about you know what happened when the Affordable Care Act was passed and how they had to rush that through the end because of you know you have mean you know Kennedy Siegelman Scott Brown so they had to kind of figure out how to manipulate things. This is just as bad if not worse like you can't figure wrapped up 20% of the US economy and five day. Right well it is the the holdouts or are Rand Paul. Susan Collins Lisa Murkowski John McCain now we're hearing it Ted Cruz as opposed to cruise yesterday coming out saying it would be hard for him to get behind the bill I know you are seminary guys cruise in the Michael Lee might not be able get behind it is well I just. I don't know how you can get this bill Dahlen in any way. That actually makes sense for people like I'm sure he could pass something yup I'm I'm sure wouldn't be very good now. Bully you can't figure out health care in five days if you could why are we here. The NHL begins playing next month. In official games those are games that will count the pre season games will be over the two weeks. Less I think but at any rate the Las Vegas golden knights they're not going to be a very good team I with Diana looked at their roster. If they win when Williams who as you say if they win more than twenty games I'll be shocked. The they just they shared some decent goaltending and some they they built the team from the net output I'm getting I digress. But they're selling tickets like. Yeah I don't think the team's actual talent is gonna matter with this Las Vegas steam all I've talked with a bunch of buddies of mine in the whole idea is. You go to Vegas for weekend. You get jockey in there become what he gold watch your team right right so with they're having is everybody loves to go to Vegas made every city in the continent as a nonstop flight of things right right either from Providence today they're not gonna have a Chester today Stephen go to Bosnia they will not have a good home ice advantage. Nobody you know it's it's gonna be good force economically. A little bit they'll sell that's the amount every night so they're gonna have lots of money to put into their farm team they're gonna have money put into scouting they're gonna have money to put in the player of all know what's gonna buy the merchandise. But I don't know I am not so sure I think be kind of cool to have like a local. And there yeah I mean actually I was out in Vegas and now August I was looking at some of the golden knights. Well like it might buy a hat the or calm on the I didn't I was like about 80%. Of the purchases for word golden tickets are coming from outside the direction and I Philly it's gonna be like a London type atmosphere when the jaguars and ravens played well did yesterday I would if that's kind of home crowd advantage is that you've got the NFL going there. The ears the raiders are going to be there are military NASA what two years the razor could fit for Vegas goody two years out it's going to be 2019 yeah. So the and it goes through next this season and next season yeah. And then the raiders. Will be in Vegas there could fit for Vegas they are they are is 888 will be the same things like that's were evil lives. That fan base will travel definitely yeah. They built travel but you'll also have packer fans that say hey let's make a weekend let's go out Thursday and we'll come back Monday. Let's this is one of the things it's actually interesting that the question is when they were putting together the op proposal to build the stadium. Days you know normally for an NFL game on Sunday your off instantly trial for either two or three nights they get there either Thursday or Friday and stay for the Sunday game and then leave. Okay. What they were projecting an and I thought it was a little ridiculous that still might be the the study for Vegas for the football team. Was projecting that fans to come for five to six nights which look. I've been to Vegas few times I like based great town. You can hit spend five nights in Vegas you will die. You'll die angled banker like yeah but you'll not be able to get home plate. You'll be able to find the airport like you can't spend five days in Vegas where is the stadium for football as I know. The hockey rink is on the strip the football stadium it's going to be like a few blocks behind the strip I think late behind on the the cosmopolitan up there to try it and see where ostensibly he proto needle park does not like people are going to be driving game it didn't just jump on tree you don't needle. Huge parking lot of the biggest is really have good. Met Blake a mass transit infrastructure that they had victory over central party and yet it's it's it's a heavily Blake car based system out there a ton of who personally you can get new over froehlich. Six dollars to go anywhere. Said he Warren who's a candidate for governor of Massachusetts is saying that Worcester is the best place for Amazon to make their headquarters. Its interest in case my first thought was to completely dismiss it and say no that doesn't make any cents. But it's interesting actually because he will play well here here's the deal with Worcester there. First of all. Real estates cheap out you know case it's going to be a lot cheaper for Amazon to do anything out that way. Then in towards Boston okay this whole lot more land as a whole lot more in terms of opportunities for where you can put. There are challenges when it comes cheaper housing Q browsing there are challenges. If in they did say one of the things they want is is affordable housing and they want access to that airport so. If you're sick you're doing it may not be in downtown Worcester. But it if it was in the Worcester area. So here here's what I was thinking is. It if you go out that way. Okay and say OK what what what what makes sense as potentially a talent to put this thing. OK if you say hey we wanna be a little bit closer in towards. On the city Barbara. That Barbara north or west Borough area you've already got some pretty big companies that are based out there you know OK you've got commuter red arrows and a few hundred acres and you can easily on a hundred acres of land out that way not not using the existing buildings but building something out there. So the way I look at you've already got commuter rail infrastructure goes through there OK I don't high speed rail you don't high speed rail line in there and you could potentially do it. Detective you get to the airport it's something they'll be interesting if you could have direct access to the airport. You know it's only 45 minutes away if you're going on a direct rail line something like an out there you can buy a nice home for half a million bucks yeah. And it was really like it's it's not as crazy as you would think you knew it would also have access to because they what they want our. The EU they want a great deal of the grabbed the kids. From New England right they wanted to get kids from brown Libya to get the kids from Dartmouth so here is the question though is will the kids go. Because the kids don't want to take a 45 minute train ride out to work necessarily they might in some situations I put in a perfect world. They love to be in the city now the exception to this okay. Is what Google and apple moved on out in San Francisco they're not in the city OK Google's in was in Mountain View or whatever. On Apple's Cupertino so they're not in the city. In on those you know both of those companies use either bosses or other forms of trains to get people out to their campuses so you could do something similar here now you know for all we know shrewd very could be the next mountain. Well and do do the kids if you're graduating from MIT 23 years old. Do you want access to city or do you feel like you need to live they live in this like so cool if you go out to San Francisco. You'll see in the morning at around eight or 9 AM these Google bosses start going through Google owns these buses and they go through and pick all the kids up in the city he paid a whopping chamber did you not know what to drive him out to Worcester and then at night all the school buses go back into the reverse commute. That's I mean you could see something like that eating is feasible for them to do that like who you're going after today. You know the V 22 year old Mina and get real excited that 35 girl is gonna like because they're going to be raising kids the 22 year old with a payment off. He won't care. Is resisting demands for financial details of its operations brushing aside questions. For me state panel investigating the future of nuclear energy in the state now. The owner of millstone. Which creates 60%. Of Connecticut's electricity used Dominion Resources yeah. And they are telling the state to screw you can't look at her books. If I were the state I'd say fine we're not we're not gonna authorize you know your rates for next year. You know the difficulty here is its private sector if it was purely a private sector play. Right you could say well what right do they have to look at the books of Raytheon under or anything else. This is a case though. Where Connecticut residents have no choice as to who they're gonna buy their electricity from the 60%. Of the electricity in this State's coming out of this power play. One thing that you have to remember there's any reason why we regulate utilities in the public or that is because when power goes out. People die in law and order breaks down if we don't have electricity you have some pretty nasty problems that tend to creep and so. It would seem to me that if you're saying hey we want to be able to charge significantly higher rates than if we add new natural gas energy or something like that you should be obligated say. Yeah here's you're our books and here's why we should be charging those higher rates that otherwise how do you know that you're not getting ripped off by the company don't. Another story out west nurse and nurses at its field hospital are planning a one day strike. And I didn't know this is there's 800 nurses. 800 nurses at Berkshire medical center out in Pittsfield the one day strike would be on October 3 to protest what they are calling unfair labor practices. If the strike occurs in the hospital he's gonna lock those workers after an additional four days and bring in temporary workers. As a result we saw that at tufts exact same thing happened there at tufts and I wrote did that strike ever I don't think it got result. What was the strike happened they're not right still on straight I I don't think we've seen a resolution to the they tried to go back to mediation a couple weeks ago I haven't heard anything knew that happened since then. But it's the strike obviously in this case still could be avoided if they do get a deal than previously. And pretty much it's the same same things that. We're going on with with the other nurses they're concerned about staffing levels pay as well as their health insurance being covered. Doesn't say how much they're Macon. It doesn't I would imagine it's not as much as what you're making in towards Boston. I'm guessing it's still probably pretty significant but not as much you are at some more like October 3 as the data that straight yes about a week nine days from now. An industrial unit EBB for two point six billion dollars of the new CEO not taking long. To put his fingerprints on this company. No way in selling this unit off off for about two point six billion dollars as you mentioned here. John Flannery continuing to take a look the company and say that we need to really focus our priorities here and I think. From my perspective where I sit. They're trying to take this company in and really build out to verticals and focus on the GE was a conglomerate for solely based spilled into just about everything and I think they wanna be focused on really two or three key areas now the first. Is health care we know that they say they wanna get heavily involved in health care it's what they're spending a lot of money on right now via I think that there's still obviously going to keep. They're high and aerospace divisions of jet engines and things like that that's a place that they view that they have a competitive advantage wind turbines. And renewable energy wind turbines and things like that I think those are really the three prongs that they want to develop out. As they go forward anything else I think they're trying to trim and get you know it's kind of size down to where the market is right now so. It's gonna take them awhile to turn the ship captain but I would expect to see some results in about three years or so so force it near in 20/20 we should be sitting there saying. Cheap you know Larry got rid of BO XY Ozzie really thought about it in its docket has been able to grow 50% over the last five. Three years here he big you you wonder. Yelling you start just assembling a company. Will he do to revenue operating revenues are gonna go down that you're selling off divisions and you hope that he selling off the rate divisions. Weather friend a big bucks that they get him in a lot of his compensation is tied to the stock. Stock stocks trading at 2499. And as low as 2350. Last year but just in shock has been a size 32. If if you're shareholder and you say where's this. I'd be by the time 220 rolls around it used to be sitting there saying look we need to be back up in that 3132 range then a pro about about 35 by the end of him 20/20. IPhone disappointment hammer supplier and fuels tie one outflows. We talked about it. Apple has that are new stock heard their new phones. Nobody buying. At least the sales results I think are disappointing. And even surprising to apple ID they're somewhat surprised in the stock's been down forties girl. Yet the stock has struggled and and obviously the suppliers of field a little bit of a hit as well as there's concern around 1% today and soared in Europe is tech is a holds down tonight donated gaggle and Amazon getting hammered two. But. You know apple was up just prior to the iPhone eight not vote X announcement. They had touched a hive hundreds almost a 165 dollars shares they've lost about 10% over the last near 25 days now. Clearly people are concerned about whether or not they're going to be able to make sales of the iPhone hacks we don't have any idea what the pre orders look like yet because they're not taking him. And so. The two concerns that you have when you look at Q4. A by pushing X released back to late October early November you lose a month of sales in knack quart so you can't book ninety days of sales you're only gonna get sixty. You know in the past when they've come out with new phones. You've heard people say well you know it's it's the cost to be on the cutting edge in if you want the best this is what you do. In but now this time around what I'm hearing from tech guys are that. This thing is way too expensive you still have the same operating system and is not worth the money. You've never I I maybe you've heard this in the past but I don't recall having heard. This type of sentiment towards an apple product in the past eight in the past it's always been. A notable in in this would no lines right you've even walked in and buy an iPhone neat in any Apple Store today. So here is that things if you go back to win the iPhone was first released back you know seven you know kind of used to be lines of it but he put the here's where I'm going with this. The iPhone in its first release and was 500 dollars it was always subsidized by the cared. Right Kerry picked up the cost OK eighteenth keep they didn't really pass it on to note the note back then they picked up the cost. They they did not charge you a dime for the phone. Plans were more expensive but remember data was the big thing back then not many people were using expensive data plans as we didn't have mobile video and stuff like that we can travel for a so the first iPhone was 500 box and subsidized. Today all of a sudden you get out there and you say look it's a thousand dollars now in its on subsidized. Or you just have to tack it on your monthly bill. That's a steep price for people to pay. In PP I don't care about anybody saying don't do for an upgrade anymore is that teams over no it's it's. I just I don't know if people want to pay a thousand dollars for a full. I know why don't why don't I know you don't. We it'll be itching to see an impact on the stock. Because they'll be looking for you not to get pre ordered data numbers thousand dollars ever owns a lot that is in his we'll see if they can pull it off. Hey coming up will be talking to Zeke.
