John Oliver trolls Pence with "Gay Bunny" Book

Comedian and late night host of the HBO "Last Week Tonight", John Oliver decided that it was a good or funny idea to write a parody book as a response to Charlotte Pence's (VP Mike Pence's daughter) children's book about a bunny. Pence's book, "Marlon Bundo's A Day in the Life of the Vice President" is about the Pence family's pet bunny and told from his perspective to let children see what it's like to follow "Grampa" (Vice President Mike Pence) around and see his day to day job. The book is currently rated at No. 4 on Amazon. A synopsis of the book on Amazon is as follows:

"From the moment he hopped into the home of America's "Second Family," black-and-white bunny rabbit Marlon Bundo captured the hearts of Vice President Mike Pence, his wife Karen, and his children Michael, Charlotte, and Audrey. But little Marlon Bundo isn't just a family pet: like Peter Rabbit and Bugs Bunny before him, Marlon—or BOTUS (Bunny of the United States)—is a national celebrity! With his appearances at official White House events, his rides on Air Force 2, and his popular Instagram account, Marlon Bundo has become a beloved member of the Trump-Pence administration. So how does a bunny experience a day in the life of the Vice President? Now young readers can follow Marlon Bundo along as he hops after "Grampa" (Vice President Mike Pence) in this delightful story penned by Charlotte Pence and illustrated faithfully with watercolors from the "Second Lady" herself, Karen Pence."

Vice President Mike Pence has been criticized for his outspoken views of the LGBTQ community, being a devote Christian himself. As a way to troll Pence, John Oliver and his HBO staff came out with this parody of a bunny who falls in love with another bunny. The title of the book is: "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver Presents a Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo". While the book has not been released yet, not till March 23rd, presales have been available and it's currently beating Pence's book at a No. 1 best selling spot on Amazon. One good thing about this book is that 100% of the proceeds of Oliver's book will be donated to The Trevor Project and AIDS United so at least something good comes out of this parody...A synopsis of the book on Amazon is as follows:

"HBO's Emmy-winning Last Week Tonight with John Oliver presents a children's picture book about a Very Special boy bunny who falls in love with another boy bunny.Meet Marlon Bundo, a lonely bunny who lives with his Grampa, Mike Pence - the Vice President of the United States. But on this Very Special Day, Marlon's life is about to change forever...With its message of tolerance and advocacy, this charming children's book explores issues of same sex marriage and democracy. Sweet, funny, and beautifully illustrated, this book is dedicated to every bunny who has ever felt different."

Of course Charlotte Pence and the Pence family are aware of the parody book that the Oliver team came out with. However they choose to remain cordial and not address the book while their publisher, Regency Kids blasted the Oliver spoof book saying: “It’s unfortunate that anyone would feel the need to ridicule an educational children’s book and turn it into something controversial and partisan,” a Regnery spokesperson told CNN. Charlotte and mother Karen Pence were however making the rounds on the media circuit to promote the book. & of course Marlon was in tow! They went on The View as well as Fox News among others. Take a look!
