Oh, the grand onion that is the Obama Administration... just when you think you've reached the center - BOOM - another layer.
Before the Senate Intelligence Committee, James Comey said this in a statement:
“I spoke alone with President Obama twice in person (and never on the phone) – once in 2015 to discuss law enforcement policy issues and a second time, briefly, for him to say goodbye in late 2016."
However, a newly uncovered Susan Rice email, sent on Inauguration Day 2017, details a meeting about eh Russia Investigation with Obama and others, including one James Comey; which, the former FBI Director neglected to mention to the HIC.
According to Rice, “President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by the Intelligence and law enforcement communities ‘by the book,’[...]The president stressed that he is not asking about, initiating or instructing anything from a law enforcement perspective. He reiterated that our law enforcement team needs to proceed as it normally would by the book.”
But here's the kicker: Rice further detailed, "The President asked Comey to inform him if anything changes in the next few weeks that should affect how we share classified information with the incoming team. Comey said he would."
