Marty Walsh doesn't want Alcohol Ads on the "T"

"Sends wrong message," and "Targeting little kids"

"But what about the children?" 

Macho Marty has glommed onto the most cliché of cliché outrage cries; this time pertaining to Alcohol Ads on MBTA trains.  The T has decided to discontinue a ban on advertising alcohol products on trains and platforms.  The no-alcohol policy has been in place for the last 5 years.  Walsh told the Herald, “I think it’s the wrong message to send to our young people, and those ads aren’t targeting adults [...] They’re targeting little kids just like the cigarette ads were in the ’80s and ’90s."

The decision made by the MBTA is designed to increase revenue; but Walsh feels they should explore other ways to generate revenue.
