Several USA Gymnasts, including McKayla Maroney, Gabby Douglas, and Aly Raisman, have come out as victims of Larry Nasser's sexual abuse.  They are joined by over 100 people who have filed complaints with the Michigan State University Police.  Today, Nasser plead guilty in court, and by pleading guilty, he receives 25-40 years, instead of a life sentence.  In a statement to the court, Nasser said, "I pray the rosary every day for their forgiveness, [...] I have no animosity for anyone. I just want healing. It's time."  He'll be sentenced on January 12th.  Some of the victims were in the courtroom at the time, and were reportedly not pleased.  There's clearly some legal precedent, but it does make on ponder the question:  "How can you plead guilty, and avoid a life sentence?"
