Alejandro Villanueva Apologizes for Standing for the National Anthem

Manchurian Apology?

The Kuhner Report
September 26, 2017 - 12:32 pm

As we mentioned on The Kuhner Report yesterday, Pittsburgh Steelers lineman Alejandro Villanueva, a Combat Veteran who served 3 Tours of Duty as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan, defied his teammates and coach and did not stay in the locker room during the National Anthem.  Steelers Head Coach, Mike Tomlin, was critical of Villanuevea, and he wasn't alone in the sports world; you can watch FS1 hosts Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless bash Villaueva HERE.  Even though in the wake of his stance, Villanueva's jersey was the highest selling jersey across all NFL platforms, he still caught heat.  And, predictably, Villanueva issued an apology to his coach, his organization, and his teammates.
