The NYPD has responded to reports of a shooting in lower Manhattan that began as a truck ramming. There is currently one person in custody, and the New York Police Department is stating that no other suspects are being sought. Some news agencies have reported this as a road rage incident.

The suspect careened the vehicle onto a bike path, striking pedestrians along the way, then possibly exited the vehicle (being reported as a Home Depot truck) with a gun and was shot by police.

The NYPD is asking people to stay away from the area due to an influx of "many emergency personnel" entering the area. Mayor Bill de Blasio has been briefed his office has stated. Thus far, no link to terrorism has been reported. This is a developing story.
