Which Rick's Hot
Rick Santorum that's getting all the media play, but it might be the other Rick who's got the best shot at being the non-Romney.
An NBC News/Marist poll showed Perry in fourth place at 14 percent support but just 1 percentage point behind Santorum. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney and Texas Congressman Ron Paul were leading the pack as former front-runner Newt Gingrich fell to fifth.
Perry, winding up a 42-city bus tour across Iowa, consistently touts himself as “the only limited-government conservative in this race that’s going to give Washington a complete overhaul.” He promises to press for constitutional amendments to require a balanced budget and to make Congress a part-time body, which draws audience applause but which some call an unworkable idea.
The Iowa race remains fluid - predicting the outcome can't be done with much certainty.
