Undocumented Frank

Senator Kerry conspires to avoid paying taxes that he loves to raise, while Barney Frank fights to save a dollar!

Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank caused a scene when he demanded a $1 senior discount on his ferry fare to Fire Island's popular gay haunt, The Pines, last Friday. Frank was turned down by ticket clerks at the dock in Sayville because he didn't have the required Suffolk County Senior Citizens ID. A witness reports, "Frank made such a drama over the senior rate that I contemplated offering him the dollar to cool down the situation." Frank's spokesperson confirmed to Page Six that his partner, James Ready, asked the ticket office for a regular ticket for himself and a senior ticket for Frank, "but was turned down because Frank didn't have a resident ID."

How dramatic is the contrast between Barney and John Kerry, whose new $7 million Isabel, which he had custom built overseas, has been dodging taxes in Rhode Island, while Barney expands the deficit and says there are plenty of very rich people we can tax?

“The interior joinery in every area, from the cabins to the galley to the salon and pilothouse, features ornate Edwardian-style glossy varnished teak with additional interior appointments that are as functionally perfect as they are exquisitely constructed.’’

It's embarrassing for Kerry that he's forced to share a government with Barney!

“The pilothouse is outfitted not only with navigation station, but also features a wet bar and cold wine storage to entertain up to six around the U-shaped settee and custom teak table,’’ the website states.

I've got to admit, it's nice to finally be reading about settees again!

"Governor Deval L. Patrick spent more than $10,000 on damask drapes for his State House office as part of a $27,387 makeover that also included a new desk, settee, and other furnishings paid for with taxpayer money," write Globe reporters Frank Phillips and Andrea Estes.

Alas, there's no senior discount on the Isabel, so Barney shouldn't expect the Isabel to swing by Fire Island to take him for a ride.
