Sun Rises on West
The concept of Affirmative Action is that it's so important to break the patterns of racial exclusion that you give opportunities to those from the exluded class, pushing other circumstances aside. So why is the Congressional Black Caucus working to defeat a Black candidate, Allen West, for congress just because he's conservative?
The racial divide belongs to the Democrats, and they don't like anyone else trying to elbow their way in. And now, with the election getting tight, the Black power structure is circling to keep the Black man down. Because, in reality, it's not race that interests them at all.
A day after U.S. Rep. Ron Klein's campaign released excerpts from its internal poll showing him with a slight lead over Allen West, the West campaign put out its own poll on Thursday showing -- surprise -- him with a narrow lead over Klein.
Based on their own alleged determination to advance members of the minority community without regard for qualifications, the CBC should be reacting with joy that their membership is in danger of being expanded by the election of Col. West, and looking forward to the day when they can welcome him into their club with a backslap and a wink. Even though he's not one of them philosophically, they would admit, he is part of the movement to erase the racial divide in our country - and that's what their careers are dedicated to.
The newest numbers, from the West camp, show him leading Klein 48 percent to 42 percent.
That won't happen, of course, because careers which began over sincere concerns about race have become cynical ones, devoted to exploiting the racial divide rather than curing it.
Despite what they say, the lefties are only motivated by one thing - keeping power.
