Sharpton Wants FCC Crackdown on People Like Him
Al Sharpton's always been a good self-promoter... whether now, in his campaign to have the FCC curb Rush Limbaugh, or early on in his race-baiting career, when he partnered with Morton Downey, Jr.
Saying that he was “tired of them acting big,” Sharpton told the unseen audience member, “You ain’t nothing! You a punk faggot!” Gesturing for the Downey fan to come up to the stage and rumble, Sharpton added, “Now come on and do something.”
You can't accuse Sharpton of playing to the camera. He was yelling at a member of the audience during a break!
SHARPTON, a syndicated talk show rival of LIMBAUGH's, told MSNBC's ED SCHULTZ, another LIMBAUGH rival, "We're going to see the FCC next week. We're not going to stand by and let publicly regulated radio and television just go for marketing and promoting this kind of racism.
Here's the Rev talking about his meeting with the FCC regarding Limbaugh.
The FCC has the responsibility to set standards, to say the public cannot be offended based on their race or their gender in this country and use federally regulated airwaves that they give licenses to that are very competitive and the FCC is very selective based on standards."
