Scarborough: Cut Way More

Joe Scarborough and Jim VandeHei from Politico discuss how the super committee, even if it succeeds in cutting $1.2 trillion dollars in spending over the next ten years, is accomplishing nothing but a reduction in the growth of spending. Senator Tom Coburn, a very conservative Republican, says we need $9 trillion in cuts and an increase in revenues.

Coburn's new report expands on a theme that was part of the plan he released in July to cut $9 trillion in spending over ten years. Though Coburn has broken ranks with his party to say he would support tax code changes to bring in more money, he has also stressed that the government shouldn't be paying money out to people who don't need it.
