Rattner: Democrats Cause Struggles of 99%

The rich are getting richer in America while average earners are seeing no gains. This can only be changed by fixing education (held hostage by Democrats), as Former Car Czar Steve Rattner explains.

It's a phenomenom of a lot of different factors going on in this economy for a long period of time whether it's the knowledge economy where people with better knowledge achieve higher incomes...

Rattner gives three reasons that the middle class is doing poorly - 1- bad education (a direct result of government policy), 2- international competition (a result of external factors), and 3- tax policy (changing this would cover up the disparity, not fix the problem).

Remember Tom Friedman's explanation that international competition has gotten stiffer so average performers have lost clout.

In the past, workers with average skills, doing an average job, could earn an average lifestyle. But, today, average is officially over. Being average just won’t earn you what it used to.

Therefore, everyone needs to find their extra — their unique value contribution that makes them stand out in whatever is their field of employment. Average is over.

We need to break the Teachers Union partnership with the Democratic Party so a competetive, vibrant education system can develop. Until then, people without the money to escape mediocre education will languish, and America will lose out to developing countries.
