We had an inspired, and large, crowd turn out today for the protest of the Congressman in Hiding in Peabody, Mass held by Bill Hudak, who is running against Rep. John Tierney. Hundreds of people, angered over the policy pursuits of the socialists, were on the streets, while across from the district courthouse, a crowd of union nurses and other of the Democrat special interest groups appeared in opposition. This was a response that the Tierney camp orchestrated using the Obama email list - sending out an emergency email Wednesday in an attempt to nullify the impact of the anti-Tierney crowd. In the end, they helped make it a bigger, and more exciting, democratic action. NECN estimated the crowd at at least 500.
Bill Hudak, who organized Thursday's protest, speaks to the crowd about the need to have a representative in Washington who is willing to meet with his constituents. Bill will be taking over Tierney's congressional seat after the election of November 2010.
