Occupiers Fight Police Over Kitchen Sink

So far, the City of Boston has given Occupiers just about everything they want - except the kitchen sink.

Three people were arrested at the Occupy Boston camp last night after demonstrators tried to stop police from seizing a sink that had been brought into the Dewey Square encampment, police and witnesses said.

Demonstrators said officers took a sink, which someone had brought into the camp so that people could wash dishes.

“We’re not allowing new construction materials’’ into the area, Superintendent in Chief Daniel Linskey said.

Demonstrator John Ford, 30, doubted the police response was cost-effective. “They could have bought a solid gold sink with how much was just paid [in overtime] to take ours,’’ he said.

The Occupiers have their struggles. It must feel good to fight with police instead of each other.
