Why is political commentator and former relentless defender of Bill Clinton's Lewinsky behavior one of the Dems defending Mitt Romney against the president's Bain attacks?

Romney wasn't even there when that plant went down... that plant was about to go into bankruptcy before Bain bought it... and, in fact, created jobs...

Why are so many Democrats, for that matter, making it so hard on the president? Could the money of Wall Street be that tantalizing?

Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker appears ready to easily win his recall election on June 5th.

The left labor Democrats, which planned to embarrass him, instead have made him a big national figure with a bright future.

Two new polls confirm the Walker lead.

A Reason-Rupe poll, also released Thursday morning, indicates that Walker has a 50% to 42% advantage over Barrett, with 6% unsure... According to a St. Norbert College/Wisconsin Public Radio survey, 50% of people likely to vote in the June 5th recall election say they support Walker, the first term governor, with 45% backing Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the Democratic challenger, and 5% unsure.

Democrats forced the recall of Walker in response to his pull-back of collective bargaining rights for public employees that led to the occupation of the Wisconsin state house 16 months ago.

Is the Catholic Church lawsuit over the Obama Administration's crackdown on religious freedom a big deal? Charles Krauthammer says it is.

On Monday, 43 different Catholic dioceses, schools, hospitals, social service agencies, and other religiously affiliated organizations filed a dozen different federal lawsuits against the Obama administration in response to the Department of Health and Human Services mandate that religious institutions are required to cover contraception in employee health plans.

The church framed the fight as an issue of religious freedom rather than about contraception itself by saying that the First Amendment protected religious institutions from providing a service that violates their religious beliefs.

Mayor Mia Love is black and Mormon... and she's the Republican nominee for congress in Utah, challenging incumbent Democrat Jim Matheson.

She is running as a conservative Republican for the newly created Fourth District, which includes part of Salt Lake County. A campaign video describes her in these terms, among others: “mother, mayor, leader, gun owner.”

Love is favored in the race, as Congressman Matheson has switched districts after redistricting in a state that prefers the GOP.

"Jim Matheson and his party, because let’s be clear, he does vote with his party quite a bit, so there are some fundamental differences there," Love said. "Here in Utah, we believe in conservative values. We believe in individual liberty. We believe in lower taxes. We believe in smaller government. Those are fundamentally different than Jim Matheson and the party of Jim Matheson."

Jay Carney gets more flumoxed then usual - truly lost - trying to defend the president's support for the Occupy movement after the stabbing of a Chicago cop during NATO protests last weekend. Carney is a minute in on this O'Reilly cut, but the whole thing is worth watching.

Supermarket CEO apologizes for an executive's joke mocking Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi.

I simply wanted express to you how sorry I am for what occurred. The joke was inappropriate and I deeply regret that this has obscured the respect we hold for you and for your service to our nation. We intend to do all we can to prevent something like this from happening in the future.

The joke came from Safeway’s General Counsel, Bob Gordon, at the company's recent annual stockholders meeting.

Chris Matthews does what is purportedly an anti-Romney rant, but he doesn't notice how it seems to fit the current president better. After all, there aren't millions of Americans wondering where Mitt was really born, why he built his political career in partnership with radicals, and why he has such disdain for the constitution.

We're being asked to let a man lead us in the world without knowing what his world is all about... who complains about the need to explain himself...

If I thought like Chris Matthews thinks, I'd have to say this rant is just a dog whistle for all the Mormon haters.

Mark Halperin wants to focus on Bain in a sit-down with Mitt, but Romney doesn't let him - pushing the focus back where it should be - on the president's record.

Are they happy with homeprices, the level of foreclosures... this is a president who spends his time blaming other people for the fact that he's been unsuccessful in turning around this economy...

Secret Service chief Mark Sullivan went before congress to explain the hanky panky, and he blamed it on the booze!

Between the alcohol and, I don't know, the environment, these individuals did some really dumb things...

"This was not a one-time event," said Collins, the senior Republican on the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. "The circumstances unfortunately suggest an issue of culture."
