Obama Might Torture

First, the President was asked if the Bush administration engaged in torture.
ABC's Jake Tapper just asked Obama if he thought that the Bush administration "sanctioned torture" in its use of waterboarding and Obama, after a moment's hesitation, said "Waterboarding violates our ideals and our values. I do believe that it's torture."
Then, President Obama was asked if he would use "enhanced interrogation techniques" in a smoking gun scenario. He wouldn't rule it out, even though he suggested that such a thing would be unlikely.
"I will do whatever is required to keep the American people safe," Obama said, but cautioned that he is unwilling to "take short cuts that undermine who we are."
Staying in Iraq on the Bush schedule, beefing up the war in Afghanistan, and torture - three big endorsements from President Obama of decisions made by President Bush. By the way, the President also said that he didn't anticipate the bad economy. If the Messiah didn't know, who could have?
