Obama Electrifies Volt Workers

The president pretends that both he, and the much subsidized but barely purchased Chevy Volt, are successes.

"Five years from now when I'm not president anymore, I'll buy one and drive it myself," Obama said to applause during a speech Tuesday to 1,600 workers and retirees from the United Auto Workers union. "Yes, that's right."

The Volt failed to meet GM's sales expectations in 2011. Its goal was 10,000, but it sold fewer than 7,800 in the wake of an investigation by the federal government into fire risks. GM has abandoned its previous sales forecast of 45,000 for 2012, saying instead it will match "supply to demand."

The Volt is even a bigger disaster than this president.
