Obama Administration: Blooming Socialists
As Ron Bloom gets ready to retire as Obama's car/manufacturing czar, it's appropriate to revisit the union activist's hit video from 2009.
Generally speaking, we get the joke. We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money, 'cause they're convinced that there is a free lunch.
In Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in the World, Bill Saporito wrote that “his role in brokering the rescue of General Motors and Chrysler while preserving more than 100,000 jobs demanded a synergist who could work both sides of the equation with authority and respect.” The Detroit News and a book by Bloom's boss Steven Rattner claimed that at the Auto Task Force's farewell dinner in July 2009, Bloom said of his government service: "I did this all for the unions."
This guy negotiated the contracts for the auto bailouts and, for the past two years, served as the administration’s Senior Counselor for Manufacturing Policy. He leaves at the end of August.
