Not Swayed

The American people have faced the full force of liberal propaganda - it's hard to imagine anyone not getting the message - the new immigration crackdown in Arizona is bigoted, racist and hateful. After this barrage, support must have dropped to single digits!

Fully 73% say they approve of requiring people to produce documents verifying their legal status if police ask for them.
What? Surely this is number is wrong, it must be coming from some right leaning research company like... Rasmussen? No, actually, it's from the liberal Pew Research Center.
Two-thirds (67%) approve of allowing police to detain anyone who cannot verify their legal status, while 62% approve of allowing police to question people they think may be in the country illegally.
Two thirds of Americans are comfortable with detention! Even Democrats haven't been swayed by the onslaught.
45% approve of the law and 46% disapprove. However, majorities of Democrats approve of two of the law’s principal provisions: requiring people to produce documents verifying legal status (65%) and allowing police to detain anyone unable to verify their legal status (55%).
Why, then, are cities around the country passing resolutions against the Arizona law, even promising boycotts? Because cities are where Democrats use our tax dollars to pay their voters to live. They're doing the usual pander politics.
...even most young people approve of requiring people to produce documents verifying their legal status; 61% approve of this element of the law while 35% disapprove.
It may be safe for city officials to mess with immigration, but anyone running for a bigger office should be cautious. In Massachusetts two weeks ago, the legislature turned down a measure that would have banned illegals form receiving welfare, housing, or other taxpayer supported benefits! What does our empathy oozing Governor (Deval Patrick) have to say?
“Sometimes I think there is an emphasis on immigrants who come from Mexico, as if they represent the whole family of the immigrant population in this country or the whole problem,’’ the governor said. “We have people here in Massachusetts who have come from Ireland and have overstayed their visas and come from other parts of Europe and overstayed their visas, and somehow that isn’t the face of the immigration problem. And that worries me.’’
Poor guy is always worrying about things that don't matter to voters. Deval shouldn't have worried out loud on this one though, as he got a front page story in the Boston Globe out of it... on the same day that a new Rasmussen poll shows liberal Massachusetts voters aren't sharing his pain.
Seventy percent of Massachusetts voters favor a proposal to stop illegal immigrants from receiving public benefits, a sentiment that flies in the face of their state Legislature’s recent rejection of such a plan.
Democrats seem willing to burn bridges with the White majorities in this country, and risk losing big this fall, in exchange for accelerating their long term strategy of becoming the dominant party once they've made White voters irrelevant.
A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey shows that just 17 percent oppose the proposal to prevent illegal immigrants from gaining access to public housing, unemployment benefits, welfare or workers, compensation. And 13 percent are not sure.
Dancing so obviously on the racial divide would seem to be a dangerous strategy - what happens when the nation wakes up and realizes that Democrats are following Reverend Wright's business model?
