Medford Mike Does Damage Control in NYC
Mayor Bloomberg issued a Mea Culpa last night in an attempt to calm his angry city... and to protect his public works commissioner.
As frustration mounted over the city'a response, many people called for the resignation of Sanitation Commissioner John Doherty, a resident of Great Kills -- but Bloomberg quashed any chance of that happening, and stood up for him yesterday.
"John Doherty will survive for the next 1,098 days. I don't care what he wants to do. This is the best Sanitation commissioner this city has ever had. Period. Bar none," Bloomberg said, adding, "This city is very lucky to have him."
