Kompassion Klan

It's been nearly 60 years that Robert Byrd has represented West Virginia in the U.S. Senate. Now, the 92 year old - the longest serving member of congress ever - is hospitalized and in serious condition, suffering from having been a Democrat for way too long.

While all decent Americans wish the former Klan member no ill, the timing of his hospitalization may serve the country well, leaving the Soviets with one less vote to wheel in on crucial pieces of their socialist agenda.
His death would be bad news, as that would leave the governor, a Democrat, in the position to appoint his successor. On the other hand, the term is up in 2012, the same year that the president will be dragging the party down in a miserable reelection run, making it a good opportunity for the GOP.
