Just Another Insult

Let's not get too excited. First, it's a Democrat being hateful, and there's nothing unusual about that. Second, he's a member of the New Hampshire house. Districts are so small that sometimes you can just sign up and have a seat.

The lower house is the New Hampshire House of Representatives with 400 members. The upper house is the New Hampshire Senate with 24 members. With 424 members, the General Court is the largest state legislature in the United States and the fourth-largest English-speaking legislative body in the world, behind the Parliament of the United Kingdom, the Parliament of India, and the United States Congress[1].

Last reason not to worry too much about him? He's quitting.

Rep. Timothy Horrigan of Durham delivered a letter of resignation to the House speaker and also said he was discontinuing his re-election campaign.

Horrigan had posted Wednesday that a "dead Palin wd be even more dangerous than a live one" and said she "is all about her myth & if she was dead she cdn't commit any more gaffes."

On Thursday, he apologized.

"She is, as far as I know, not a bad person at all -- and certainly she deserves to live a long and happy life," Horrigan wrote on Facebook.

Too bad he's not hanging around. He's got the potential to be another Alan Grayson.
