Jon Keller: Putting Sharpton on TV is Racist

 A longtime Boston political reporter says putting Al Sharpton on MSNBC looks to him like an act of racism. WBZ TV's Jon Keller, speaking on Emily Rooney's Beat the Press program on WGBH in Boston says:

I don't know the executives who run MSNBC, I believe by and large they're aging white males, and I wonder if putting Al Sharpton on with his own show suits their need to portray African Americans as clowns in some sort of Minstrel show way... 

I never like when aging white men engage in the bigotry of blaming other aging white men for being aging white men, but it's particularly disappointing for a savvy political reporter like Keller to play the "let's blame race without evidence" game.
