How would he know?
Sen. Barack Obama didn't know his aunt might be living illegally in the United States, as media outlets are reporting, his campaign said Saturday.
The half-sister of Sen. Barack Obama's Kenyan father reportedly lives in this complex in South Boston.

How would he know? He didn't know that Reverend Wright was a racist, and he spent 18 years going to his church.

He didn't know Bill Ayers was an unrepentant terrorist, even though Ayers was his mentor. So how would he know that his favorite Aunt was living illegally in Boston on the public dole?

With Zogby and Rasmussen both showing Barack with a five point lead, Gallup jumps to 10% today.
Barack Obama leads John McCain in Gallup Poll Daily tracking interviewing conducted Wednesday through Friday by an identical 52% to 42% margin among both traditional likely voters and expanded likely voters. Obama leads by a similar 52% to 41% margin among all registered voters.

What happened?
Gallup's interviewing conducted Wednesday through Friday shows that 27% of registered voters who plan to vote have already voted. The trend in early voting has trended consistently upward on a day to day basis, moving from 7% of registered voters, who had already voted during the period of Oct. 17-19, to the current estimate of 27%. Another 8% of registered voters still indicate that they plan on voting before Election Day itself. The vote choices of these early voters -- all of whom are included in the likely voter pool since they are definite voters -- skew more toward Barack Obama than the sample average. Thus, more and more of these Obama-oriented voters' choices are being "locked in" to the likely voter pool through early voting, benefiting Obama. Rush played a great edit yesterday of the Charlie Rose interview with Tom Brokaw in which Brokaw confesses, inadvertently, to the media's utter incompetence. It's delightful.

Here's a longer look at it.

While John McCain has made some effort to claim the mantle of the Reagan legacy, he hasn't done much of anything to sell Americans on the idea. The dummies running McCain's campaign have sat still and allowed Barack, the big government liberal who will surely expand the size of government if elected, to become the choice of those who want lower taxes.
It is impossible to overstate the importance of Obama's tax cut promise to his current lead in the polls. Thirty-one percent (31%) of voters now believe that their taxes will go down if Obama is elected. Only 11% believe that will happen if McCain wins (see crosstabs). Obama has made remarkable progress on this issue in recent months. In August, only 9% believed Obama would cut their taxes.

Which explains why McCain has made some inroads with Joe the Plumber driven economic talk. Joe's conversation with the Democratic nominee, caught on tape for the world to behold, outed Barack as the tax and spend, spread the wealth liberal that he is. McCain has been wise to capitalize.
Thirty-seven percent (37%) believe their taxes will go up in an Obama Administration while 26% say the same about McCain.
This could be the biggest brand theft in American political history - all accomplished with a simple twist of the standard Democratic promise of higher taxes. Barack's pledge - I'm going to raise taxes, just not yours. The Dems have done a good job playing class warfare through the Bush years, and Barack is collecting the payoff.
Nearly a third of voters say they have already cast their ballot and Obama leads by nine among this group. Obama also has a similar lead among the small group who have not voted but still plan to vote early. The candidates are essentially even among those who plan to vote on Tuesday.
The Rasmussen tracker shows Barack up 5%, failing to confirm the surprising results obtained by Zogby yesterday.
The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama with 51% of the vote, John McCain with 46%. The race continues to remain remarkably stable at the national level--this is the 37th straight day that Obama’s support has been between 50% and 52% (see trends).
Now my advice for those who die, (Taxman!)
Declare the pennies on your eyes, (Taxman!)
‘Cos I’m the Taxman,
Yeah, I’m the Taxman.
And you’re working for no-one but me,
(Taxman).

The hope for an end to financial struggle - mortgage payments, college tuitions, transportation - is a universal one. The belief that relieving some of that burden from those with the least is the job of government - not by improving one's potentials but by gifting - is a driving force of liberalism.
This is the cruel hoax of Barack's hope message.

The race for president tightens, as the Zogby poll shows McCain cutting two points off Barack's lead. That's good news - but that's not the surprise.
Republican John McCain made a small gain against Democrat Barack Obama and has pulled back within the margin of error, now trailing Obama by five points, 49.1% to 44.1%, the latest Reuters/C-SPAN/Zogby daily tracking telephone poll shows.
This follows a couple of days in which the tracking polls had seemed to indicate an end to a McCain move to close the gap. But the news gets better.
Almost two days worth of the polling -- or about half of the current sample in the three-day rolling poll of likely voters nationwide, was conducted after Obama's 30-minute commercial aired Wednesday evening. There is no evidence it helped him, as he has dropped 1.1 points in the last two days, while McCain has gained 0.8 points during the same period.
And, here's the big news from John Zogby.
"Is McCain making a move? The three-day average holds steady, but McCain outpolled Obama today, 48% to 47%. He is beginning to cut into Obama's lead among independents, is now leading among blue collar voters, has strengthened his lead among investors and among men, and is walloping Obama among NASCAR voters. Joe the Plumber may get his license after all."
That's right - in Friday's numbers, McCain leads Obama by 1%.

Of course, the Friday results may be an anomaly - they do three day tracking polls to buffer against misperceptions that might develop from looking at one day's results. We'll watch eagerly for confirmation from the Rasmussen and Gallup polls, which release later.

Rasmussen showed a 4% Obama lead yesterday, but Gallup had moved to 8%, so the Zogby numbers must be viewed with some caution.

This week we learned more about the compassionate side of Barack. You'll remember that several weeks ago it was learned that Barack's brother George was living in a box.
George Onyango Obama, the half-brother of Senator Barack Obama, lives in a hut outside Nairobi and survives on a mere $12 a year and says he is "ashamed" when people find out he is Obama's half-brother.
This week we learned that Barack's aunt was living in Boston - and doing much better than George - on the public dime.
In his Wednesday night infomercial, Obama declared that his "fundamental belief" was that "I am my brother's keeper."

Back in Kenya, his brother lives in a shack on 12 bucks a year. If Barack is his brother's keeper, why couldn't he send him a $10 bill and nearly double the guy's income? The reality is that Barack Obama assumes the government should be his brother's keeper, and his aunt's keeper. Why be surprised by that? For 20 years in Illinois, Obama has marinated in the swamps of the Chicago political machine and the campus radicalism of William Ayers and Rashid Khalidi. In such a world, the redistributive urge is more or less a minimum entry qualification.
Now, we get an added bonus - Barack's aunt is an illegal alien.
Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.
How sweet it is!
Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case.
That Barack is a wacko liberal now becomes indisputable! The common liberal might occasionally practice some of the things he preaches - he might recycle or have a compost pile - but the most radical of the breed are busy writing major outbursts against global warming while jetting to their favorite vacation spot for the weekend.

Onyango is Obama's paternal aunt, one of several children of the senator's grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama. In his memoir, "Dreams From My Father," Obama refers to Onyango affectionately as “Aunt Zeituni” and recalls that she was the first person to greet him when he stepped off a plane and arrived for the first time in Kenya.

"'Welcome home,' Zeituni said, kissing me on both cheeks," Obama wrote.

Just because democrats believe in being compassionate doesn't mean we should expect them to act the belief out. They also believe in good education, and better opportunity for minorities, yet they hold millions of minorities in permanent poverty by forcing them into shamlessly bad urban schools. These words they throw around, they're just words - a weapon used to diminish the competition.

Onyango's case — coming to light just days before the presidential election — led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring any deportations prior to Tuesday's election to be approved at least at the level of ICE regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.

The unusual directive suggests that the Bush administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango's case coming to light so close to the election.

I wonder what Barack would do with his aunt as president.
Obama and Biden support a system that requires undocumented immigrants who are in good standing to pay a fine, learn English, and go to the back of the line for the opportunity to become citizens.
Ah, but she's not in good standing. Would he be compassionate and bring her "out of the shadows?" Or would he deport her? Here's a shoker - his website position paper doesn't go into that much detail.
