Howard Dean Carries Union Water

Democrats, who are partners with unions in holding education hostage to their own needs, soil conversations on improving education by arguing that there just isn't enough money, they need more programs, they need more money. Howard Dean does it here...

In the really tough inner-city schools 20% of the kids can't learn because from zero to three they were in really abysmal situations...

Dean then gets busted by Michelle Rhee, the former reform darling of the DC public schools.

I have to differ here with the governor - you cannot... just write off 20% of the kids in any school district... we can't write them off.

Forget, for the moment, about the obvious fact that Dems pursue policies that will create more of these 20% that Dean talks about, and just focus on the sleight of hand - shifting the reform conversation into union talking points. Union talking points are always about policies that will create demand for more teachers, not about correcting existing practices that fail children.
