Like A Hawk

Yesterday, it was just a press release announcing Harry Reid's opposition to the mosque. Today, he dared to say it to a camera, but with language virtually identical to the press release. This should make us suspicious, as we should be any time Harry's lips are moving. Here's yesterday's written statement:

"The First Amendment protects freedom of religion," Manley wrote in an e-mail. "Senator Reid respects that, but thinks that the mosque should be built someplace else."

What did the slippery Reid say today?

"The constitution gives us freedom of religion. I think that it's very obvious that the mosque should be built somewhere else."

See... the language is remarkably cautious, consistent, and stupid. He gives us fragments of an argument, but he doesn't explain how he reconciles the contradictions. Perhaps to avoid a gaffe, and maybe in preparation for an Obama-style parse. Watch him like a hawk.
