The Green Leader

As the U.S. economy continues to teeter on the brink of disaster, congressional leaders moved yesterday to put together a compromise loan package for the auto industry, and Barack's weekly radio address focused on a recovery plan for the rest of us.
Obama, in his weekly radio speech today, said his plan to create or preserve 2.5 million jobs will also include making public buildings more energy efficient, repairing schools and modernizing health care with electronic medical records.
A big investment in public works projects, reminiscent of the 1930's and the highway system project of the 1950's, will be coupled with the greening of America in an attempt to spend our way from the edge. What could possibly make a liberal happier than coming into office when everyone expects you to deficit spend?
“We won’t just throw money at the problem,” he said. “We’ll measure progress by the reforms we make and the results we achieve -- by the jobs we create, by the energy we save, by whether America is more competitive in the world.”
