GOP to Decide Fate of Dennis Kucinich

Will Dennis Kucinich be run out of congress as a result of redistricting? That would be a shame - the Ohio rep is a national treasure... but the redistricting decision is in the hands of Republicans.

Republicans swept Ohio Democrats out of four statewide offices and grabbed control of the Legislature on Tuesday while capturing a majority in Ohio's congressional delegation and retaining a U.S. Senate seat.

Ohio is back to being a very Republican state.

Former U.S. Rep. John Kasich defeated Gov. Ted Strickland in a tight race that followed a sometimes nasty campaign that drew political stars on both sides and a record-breaking $30 million-plus in campaign contributions.

The party also took over the attorney general, treasurer and secretary of state offices, cashing in on a backlash against President Barack Obama in the swing state critical to his hopes for a second term in two years.

Five Democratic U.S. House members were ousted by Republican challengers across the state, giving the GOP an eight-seat edge in the delegation.
