Foaming Left

The leftist who has done the best job of humiliating himself over Glenn Beck's event at the Lincoln Memorial is Chris Matthews, who went on a race baiting rampage Friday night. He even had the gall to "kidnap" Martin Luther King's work and to rewrite his I Have a Dream Speech!

I have a nightmare that one day a right wing talk show host will come to this spot, his people`s lips dripping with the words "interposition" and "nullification." Little right wing boys and little right wing girls joining hands and singing their praise for Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin. I have a nightmare.

What self-righteous cajones Matthews has to rewrite King's speech to turn it into such divisive venom! King's speech was one of hope that included these words:

With this faith we will be able to transform the jangling discords of our nation into a beautiful symphony of brotherhood.

With this faith we will be able to work together, to pray together, to struggle together, to go to jail together, to stand up for freedom together, knowing that we will be free one day.

The nightmare for Dr. King, I suspect, would be to see how the left has kidnapped his legacy and turned it into a tool of racial divide... using the race struggles as a political tool rather than promoting the healing that he sought.

Clarence B. Jones, who served as King's personal attorney and his speechwriter, said he believes King would not be offended by Beck's rally but "pleased and honored" that a diverse group of people would come together, almost five decades later, to discuss the future of America.

Jones, now a visiting professor at Stanford University, said the Beck rally seemed to be tasteful and did not appear to distort King's message, which included a recommitment to religious values.

When you hear the liberal response to Glenn Beck, do you hear a "beautiful symphony of brotherhood?" Listening to Beck himself will bring you far closer.

gall

Giving Chris Matthews the benefit of the doubt, we can accept that he is squirming in frustration over the failure of the dream to materialize. Even with a Black man holding the highest office in the land, the left fails to reach for the goals that MLK espoused. They keep looking in the wrong direction to assign blame.
