Dream Weaver

Flash-back to 2004.
Education Secretary Rod Paige called the National Education Association, the nation's largest teachers union, "a terrorist organization" during a private meeting with governors Monday.
The NEA naturally demagogued the matter.
"It is morally repugnant to equate those who teach America's children with terrorists," Reg Weaver said. "Yet this is the kind of rhetoric we have come to expect from this administration whenever one challenges its world view."
Of course, Paige wasn't attacking teachers.
Paige released a statement later Monday saying he had used "an inappropriate choice of words." He called teachers "the real soldiers of democracy" but criticized the union's "obstructionist scare tactics."
But as Michelle Rhee fights the unions and their Democratic partners to improve schools in Washington DC, she must be looking back fondly on the words of Rod Paige.
He said the NEA's "high-priced Washington lobbyists have made no secret that they will fight against bringing real, rock-solid improvements in the way we educate all our children regardless of skin color, accent or where they live."
Rod Paige was correct, as was Barack in the above video, as is DC Education Chancellor Rhee. But schools can't be fixed until the Democratic Party/Union cabal is broken up.
