A few days ago, Gallup showed Barack Obama's approval rating to have dropped to an historic low of 47% (lowest point ever by a president this early in his administration.) Gallup has since drifted back up to 50%, but a new Public Polling survey also shows him at 47%, while a new Quinnipiac poll has Obama at 46%.
“Perhaps the greatest measure of Obama’s declining support is that just 50 percent of voters now say they prefer having him as president to George W. Bush, with 44 percent saying they’d rather have his predecessor."How about that - America is moving quickly to wanting W back.
"The closeness in the Obama/Bush numbers also has implications for the 2010 elections. Using the Bush card may not be particularly effective for Democrats anymore, which is good news generally for Republicans and especially ones like [former Ohio Republican Rep.] Rob Portman who are running for office and have close ties to the former president.”His dropping approval rating remains the good news in the polls for the President. Consider his health care proposal.
A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found that 52 percent of voters oppose the health care reform bill that Congress is considering, while 38 percent support it. The findings, similar to those of other polls, reflect the largest margin so far.Just over one third of voters now approve of the universal health care pacakge that Obama has ruined his presidency to get passed! A CBS News poll shows problems on Afghanistan, too.
A bare majority of Americans support President Obama's plan to send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan... Fifty-five percent said Obama's decision to announce that troops will begin to come home in 2011 was "not a good idea."There's more...
On issues, the Democrats lost support across the board as Republicans gained. Among the economic and budget issues: -On reducing the federal deficit, their 30-point edge a year ago has given way to a 7-point deficit. -On taxes, they were up by 17 points; now they're down by 2.The Obama presidency implodes as he alienates the citizenry at an historic pace.
