has been released. It
(1) recognizes Michael Jackson as a global humanitarian and a noted leader in the fight against worldwide hunger and medical crises; and (2) celebrates Michael Jackson as an accomplished contributor to the worlds of arts and entertainment, scientific advances in the treatment of HIV/AIDS, and global food security. Will Congress have the courage not to honor Michael Jackson, with such a lovely opportunity to pander?
Whereas Michael Jackson was labeled 'The King of Pop', Jackson's music is internationally recognized and critically acclaimed; Whereas Michael Jackson was one of the few artists to have been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice; Whereas, on January 10, 1984, Michael Jackson visited the unit for burn victims at Brotman-Memorial Hospital in Los Angeles, and demonstrated his concern with people suffering from grievous injuries; The silliness goes on and on, stepping on America's racial divide. Surely, Representative Peter King's anti-Jackson-glorification rant has struck a nerve in the black community. But is he wrong?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eiBv5bBTqqYWith Michael's burial bling on stage, his body supposedly within, I can't help wondering how mercenary the family will be - was I right last week when I predicted that the Jackson Five will do the tour in place of MJ, with his body on stage for the concerts?
Michael Jackson's golden casket has been placed on stage at his public memorial service in downtown Los Angeles. The casket was brought into Staples Center on Tuesday as a choir sang in front of a backdrop of stained-glass windows. The public event followed a private service for family and friends in a cemetery hall in the Hollywood Hills. Jackson's flower-draped casket was brought to Staples Center in a motorcade under law enforcement escort.I was half kidding - but at this point, I put nothing past them.
