Brokaw Scared of the Wrong Places

Would you be afraid to go to a bar in Arizona? Tom Brokaw says he'd be scared because of the state's lax control of guns. Arizona does have the 11th highest gun homicide rate in the country, but it is behind liberal, urban states like Maryland and California (whose gun laws are among the toughest in the nation).

Gun related violence is most common in poor urban areas and in conjunction with gang violence, often involving juveniles or young adults.

Is Brokaw's fear rational? Iowa has the lowest homocide rate in the country and has amongst the weakest gun laws. New Hampshire, which just made carrying guns in the statehouse legal, has the third lowest rate.
