Brennan: Human Shield Was One of bin Laden's Wives
Who was the woman who was used by bin Laden as a human shield? The president's counter terrorism adviser, John Brennan, responds to that question during a press conference Monday afternoon.
"She served as a shield -- this is my understanding -- when she fought back -- when there was an opportunity to get to bin Laden -- she was positioned in a way that she was used as a shield--my understanding was she was one of bin laden's wives," Brennan told reporters.
Brennan said bin Laden's death would have an "important" effect on the al-Qaeda organization. "This is something that we've been after for 15 years, it goes back before 9/11," Brennan said, adding that the United States is hoping to convince people that al-Qaeda is a thing of the past.
