British Prime Minister Gordon Brown sends a hand-written note to the families of all troops killed at war. That's the good news. The bad news is that, in at least one case, he made mistakes that infuriated the mother of one such casualty. When he called to apologize, she lambasted him - and secretly recorded the conversation.
Events unfold in unpredictable ways. Gordon's nice gesture came back to haunt him, and one mother's anger could alter the course of events, at least for the Brits, in Afghanistan.
