Blacks, Young Losing Interest in Obama

Support for President Obama is eroding as the economy catches up with him. Even young voters - who were the most caught up in the magic carpet ride of 2008 - have started to figure it out.

Mr. Obama's support has dropped from 52 percent support to 43 percent support among non-Hispanic whites between the ages of 18-29, a nine-point drop. Among those 30 and older, the drop is between five and six percent.

Mitt has now taken a small lead in North Carolina - a state he must win - but the loss of support for the president among black voters is shocking.

The poll finds that Mitt Romney would get 20 percent of the African-American vote if the election were held today, compared with 76 percent for Obama. Overall, Romney has a 48 percent to 46 percent lead on Obama in the crucial swing state.
