Big Vote in Wisconsin

It's election day in Wisconsin, a result of the successful battle to strip some collective bargaining rights from public workers that took place over the winter.

With control of the Wisconsin Senate in the balance, six Republican state senators will face a recall vote Tuesday. One Democratic senator has already weathered a recall attempt, and on Aug. 16, two more Democrats will be up for recall.

At stake is control of the state Senate; Republicans currently hold a 19- to-14 seat edge, meaning that if Democrats pick up three seats on Tuesday, they take control of the chamber.

With control of the senate, Democrats would regain a voice, even though they'd still be dealing with a Republican governor - and the GOP will have lost total control.
