Bass Falls Behind In New Hampshire Race

The most recent poll shows Ann Kuster pulling ahead of Republican Charlie Bass as he seeks to return to congress in New Hampshire.

The WMUR Granite State Survey shows Kuster leading the race for the first time, 43 to 36 percent. The poll of 369 likely voters in the 2nd District has a margin of sampling error of 5.1 percent.

A month ago, Bass held a 5-point lead.

"He didn't run a particularly strong primary campaign, and I think we are seeing the results of this," Smith said. "Annie Kuster, on the other hand, ran an extremely good primary campaign."Smith said the 2nd District tends to be a Democratic district.

But he said Bass can still benefit from the national trend away from the Democratic Party."This is a Republican year," Smith said. "Republicans across the country and in New Hampshire have the energy, but you see much more energy in the 1st Congressional District than you do in the 2nd Congressional District."

We are counting on both districts in New Hampshire to return to GOP hands.
