Attack too Far

Rand Paul, running for senate in Kentucky, makes Democrat Jack Conway pay for a laughable attack ad in their Sunday night debate.

Paul mentioned the ad in his opening statement, telling Conway: "You should be ashamed of yourself. You should apologize. Have you no decency? Have you no shame?" At the close of the debate, Paul refused to shake hands with Conway, declaring, "I will not be associated with someone who attacks my religion."

Ironically, the Conway attack seems to be backfiring, giving Paul a chance to out-religion Conway.

Paul’s spokesperson Gary Howard said the Tea Party favorite is calling for Conway to apologize for the remarks and that Paul is considering not participating in the campaign’s last scheduled debate, currently slated for Oct. 25, eight days before the election. Howard said Paul has not yet decided whether he will or will not participate in the last debate.

Here's the attack ad from Conway once again.

Conway’s ad accused Paul of being involved with an allegedly anti-Christian group in college. The ad also says Paul tied a woman up and made her kneel before an “Aqua Buddha.”
