Akin: Contempt for God Drives Liberalism

Congressman Todd Akin is running for U.S. Senate in Missouri, and he's making waves for saying that liberalism hates God.

“I don’t think there’s anything to apologize for,” Akin said. “I’m not going to apologize for what I see liberalism doing.”

Last Friday, speaking to the Family Research Council’s radio program, Akin said, “at the heart of liberalism, really, is a hatred for God and a belief that government should replace God.”

Liberals and religious groups responded Monday, saying it’s conservative policies, not liberal policies, that disenfranchise those in need.

“It’s because of my faith in God that I’m a Liberal Democrat. And it’s through government programs like Medicaid, Social Security and Medicare, that we can most effectively take care of those in need,” said Vicky Trippe, a Christian, former teacher, and ProVote activist from Springfield, who, in 2005 coined the phrase and printed bumper stickers touting, “Because of my faith, I vote for Democrats.”

Most of America seems oblivious to the fact that while traditional religion has been pushed out of the schools, it's been replaced by the religion of Liberalism.

Fairy Tales are full of blatant sexism and heterosexism. How many times do we have to read about a princess finding prince charming and living life happily-ever-after? How refreshing that we’re finally seeing some books that stray from that formula. King & King is one such story.
