The Green Line extension will move forward

November 21, 2017 - 5:59 am

The MBTA board is giving the go ahead to a pair of transit projects that will cost nearly two-billion-dollars to complete.  Over one-billion-dollars of the spending is for the Green Line extension into Somerville and Medford.  The panel also approved over 700-million-dollars for a high tech new fare collection system.  This was the transit agency's biggest spending day since it approved a contract for well over two-billion-dollars for Keolis to operate the commuter rail system.
