MBTA approves alcohol ads at some stations

Stops near schools will not display the ads

November 22, 2017 - 8:19 am

The MBTA is planning to accept alcohol advertising at some stations, ending a five-year ban on those types of ads.  The transit agency estimates that the change will bring in over two-million-dollars in new revenue.  Alcohol ads will not be used at stations near schools or community centers, or in stations where over ten percent of passengers use student passes.  The alcohol ads are expected to begin running in some stations next month.
