A four-alarm fire that destroyed a multi-family unit in Cambridge Tuesday morning has been put out, according to fire officials.

The initial call for a structure fire at 54 Reservoir St. came in around quarter of seven, according to the Cambridge Fire Department Twitter account. Photos show firefighters battling the blaze on a ladder extended up to a second floor balcony. At one point, firefighters were ordered out of the home as a precaution. The fire was brought under control around 8:45 a.m.

The house sits on the corner of Reservoir St. and Blakeslee St. in West Cambridge. The 4,500 square foot two-family unit was built in 1930, according to city property records. It has an assessed value of $1.3 million.
