October 12, 2017 - 6:56 am

The Massachusetts state Senate is expected to take up a bill to ban the sale of bump stock devices in the state today. The devices are used to make semi-automatic weapons fully automatic. The devices were used by the Las Vegas shooter to kill 58 people and wound hundreds of others at a country music festival Oct.1.

A Tewksbury woman, Rhonda LaRoche was killed in the attack. Funeral services for the 42-year-old wife and mother are scheduled to begin Friday.

The House approved the bill Wednesday, and Governor Charlie Baker has indicted he will sign the measure if it reaches his desk.
