Boston schools IRS audit raises questions

Some workers apparently paid off the books

November 28, 2017 - 8:37 am

Concerns are being raised after Boston Superintendent of Schools Tommy Chang failed to reveal details of a recent IRS audit.  The audit apparently revealed that the district had paid some staffers off the books using student activity accounts.  Chang informed principals and headmasters of the audit's findings in June, but never told members of the School Committee.  Member Miren Uriarte says the committee should have been told about the audit much earlier.
